Hunchback

Throughout the years the Hunchback has been a villainous character in gothic-horror novels and scary movies, the most famous of which is probably Quasimoto, from the Hunchback of Notre-Dame. In the novel Quasimoto has the characteristic hump, but also other physical deformaties such as a wart that covers his entire left eye. Despite his deformity he shows a nobleness of heart which is lacking in all the other characters.

The "Hunchback" has become a stock character in horror movies, often as a sidekick to a mad scientist ("Igor" to Victor Frankenstien,) or toady to a more powerful villan.
